Invest in Mundo Verde

Combining Education for Sustainability, bilingual education and project-based learning (EL Education), Mundo Verde’s program fosters high levels of academic achievement among a diverse group of students by preparing them to be successful and compassionate global stewards of their communities.

A parent-founded public charter school in the District of Columbia, Mundo Verde relies on a combination of public funding designated per enrolled student, competitive public funding, and the support of families and caregivers, community members, as well as private corporations and foundations to accomplish our unique mission. Our vibrant community of supporters provides funds critical for the implementation of Mundo Verde’s biliteracy curricula and the development of our two campuses.

Mundo Verde is a District of Columbia nonprofit organization and is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Your gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Every Donation Counts

Your contribution, at any level, has a direct influence on our students’ experiences. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, families, and community members we are able to:

  • Attract and retain talented and dedicated staff AND keep them sharp with innovative professional development;

  • Offer our students immersive, hands-on field studies, experiential learning opportunities such as working with real-life experts, and activities that stand out from regular offerings like cooking and gardening classes and school-wide nature adventure excursions on a regular basis;

  • Provide staff with equipment and supplies for our unique programming, including academic, STEAM, cooking and gardening, and other special projects; and

  • Enhancing and expanding our campuses to better meet the needs of our student body and better align with our mission and principles.

How to Give

We are honored and inspired with every single one of the contributions made to Mundo Verde, no matter the size. Everybody can contribute to our school’s future in critical ways:

  • Donate online: Click the DONATE NOW button to the right. You can charge your one-time or recurring gift on American Express, Visa, or MasterCard (recurring giving can help you set up a larger contribution by spreading it evenly through the year).

  • If it is easier to contribute in smaller bites, consider setting up an automatic recurring donation that can have a big impact overtime.

  • Donate by check: Send to Development Office, Mundo Verde Bilingual Public Charter School, 30 P Street NW, Washington, DC 20001. If you wish to designate the donation to the priorities of a specific campus, they may add the campus name on the Memo line. Otherwise, donations will go toward General Support for both schools.

  • In person delivery of Cash/money order donations may be made in sealed envelopes and dropped at the locked boxes on campus (the J.F. Cook Campus lock box is located at the entrance of room #102 and the Calle 8 Campus lock box is across from the reception desk). Donors should enclose a note stating that the gift is a donation, the exact amount, the name of the donor, and the designation.

  • Leverage your gift:

    • Employer matching: You might be able to make your gift go farther! Please check with your employer to find out if they have a matching gift program.

Help Us Better Understand Families and Caregivers' Perspectives Around Raising Fund

We have carefully designed a survey that will help us better understand families and caregivers’ perspectives around raising funds and their views regarding areas of investment so that common efforts can support our campus communities while aligning to our Mundo Verde Guidelines for Financial Support and Fundraising and our equity principles. The value of everyone responding to this survey is the ability to share your perspectives as parent/caregiver, regardless of whether you have or will give financially or contribute time to fundraising efforts. The more responses we receive the more comprehensive findings will help guide fundraising efforts in SY23-24. The survey is being administered by our partner Possip, it is bilingual and it is campus specific so make sure you click on the appropriate link corresponding to your campus. Make your voice heard and encourage others to do so! Surveys will only be active for a short time so respond now so you don't miss out.
